From the first moment I rang the door bell at the Sligo Cancer Care Centre, I was greeted with warmth, compassion, respect and reassurance. Being a cancer patient is daunting and although those around you try to comfort you and understand what you are going through, it is an isolating time with lots of uncertainty. Meeting the ladies at the centre gave me a huge sense of not being alone on my journey and the treatments available are truly beneficial. I didn’t know what to expect to be honest as everything in my life had changed but I started to look forward to my visits there and then realised I was recovering as they became less and less. I am still in touch and have been doing some online therapeutic courses and would highly recommend the centre to anybody who has been touched by cancer and their families. Thank you to all at the Sligo Cancer Support Centre.
